We turned an old porch planting box into a cold frame. We built a cold frame top to put over the planter box. We used 6 mm greenhouse plastic to cover the top. My dad and I love doing projects together and this is a project that I get to enjoy for years to come. Living in North Idaho where we get harsh winter temperature and cold nights for a good bit leading into the growing season. This cold frame really gives me a huge season extension and allows me to have crops protected more than I can in my inground garden.
