Sears 1831 opened as the 7th Sears Grand in October 2005, having the grand opening on the 22nd. This would be Colorado's first and only Sears Grand to open, opening in what was to be (and was at the time) one of the largest shopping plazas in America, Larkridge Plaza.

Just over 15 years later in February 2021, this Sears Grand would be announced to close with temporary job closures appearing on Indeed on February 12th and the closing event being posted on the SB360 website on February 24th. It is currently set to close on May 2nd, 2021. The Auto Center will remain open after the store closes.

UPDATE 2021: All Sears Auto Centers have closed as of December 2021.
