Kothamangalam Kanni 20 Festival. It is one of the biggest festivals of the Kothamangalam people. This year marks the 340th anniversary of the birth of Bava. Kothamangalam Kanni 20 Festival is celebrated by everyone regardless of caste and religion. Kanni 20 falls on the first and second of October. Tens of thousands of pilgrims from various parts of Ernakulam district and other districts reach the church on foot during these days.
Tens of thousands of pilgrims have reached the grave of His Holiness Eldo Mar Baselios Bava, who is buried in the Kothamangalam Marthoma Cheriya Palli.
As usual, those who came from the Idukki district offered their vows with huge mountains of cardamom.

As usual, this time too, a member of the Nair family started the circumambulation around the capital by lighting the banyan tree.

കോതമംഗലം കന്നി 20 പെരുന്നാൾ. കോതമംഗലം ജനതയുടെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ഉത്സവങ്ങളിലൊന്നാണിത്. ഈ വർഷം ബാവയുടെ 340-ാം ജന്മദിനം ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ജാതിയും മതവും നോക്കാതെ എല്ലാവരും കോതമംഗലം കന്നി 20 പെരുന്നാൾ ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു. ഒക്ടോബർ ഒന്നും രണ്ടും തീയതികളിലാണ് കന്നി 20 ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നത്. എറണാകുളം ജില്ലയുടെയും മറ്റ് ജില്ലകളിലെയും വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിന് തീർത്ഥാടകർ ഈ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽ കാൽനടയായി പള്ളിയിൽ എത്തുന്നു.
കോതമംഗലം മാർത്തോമ്മ ചെറിയ പള്ളിയിൽ അടക്കം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന പരിശുദ്ധ എൽദോ മാർ ബസേലിയോസ് ബാവയുടെ കബറിടത്തിൽ പതിനായിരക്കണക്കിന് തീർത്ഥാടകർ എത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.

പതിവുപോലെ, ഇടുക്കി ജില്ലയിൽ നിന്നുള്ളവർ വലിയ ഏലക്ക മലകൾ കൊണ്ട് നേർച്ചകൾ അർപ്പിച്ചു.
