The CHAIBUXI BRIDGE is located in YICHANG CITY, HUBEI PROVINCE CHINA. It is built to the standards of a two-way 4-lane expressway + a two-way 2-lane secondary road. The expressway is designed to have a speed of 80 kilometers per hour, and the secondary road is designed to have a speed of 40 kilometers per hour. The bridge is 904 meters long, with a main span of 480 meters and a deck width of 44.5 meters. It is the first cable-stayed bridge in Hubei Province where an expressway and a provincial road are built on the same level. It is also the widest bridge of its kind under construction in the world. The main tower on the west bank that was capped this time is designed in an "H" shape and is 167.2 meters high

Compared with traditional cable-stayed bridges, the longitudinal main span and transverse bridge deck of Chaibuxi Bridge are asymmetrical structures, and the main tower has a certain degree of distortion in space, which makes the construction of the bridge more difficult. The lower and middle towers of the bridge adopt a variable cross-section design, which means that they shrink continuously from bottom to top, and the inclination is large, making the overall construction very difficult. In order to ensure the smooth capping of the main tower, the project department actively optimized the construction organization design, innovated the process and method, and innovatively adopted the "step-type" casting method, which created favorable conditions for the entry of personnel and machinery and solved the problem of bridge foundation construction under the conditions of steep slopes in the canyon.


柴埠溪特大桥位于湖北省宜昌市，采用双向4车道高速公路+双向2车道二级公路标准建设，高速公路设计时速80公里，二级公路设计时速40公里。大桥全长904米，主跨480米，桥面宽44.5米，是湖北省首座高速公路与省道同层共建的斜拉桥，同时也是目前世界上同类型在建最宽桥。此次封顶的西岸主塔采用“H”造型设计，高167.2米。

柴埠溪特大桥相对传统斜拉桥，纵向边主跨和横向桥面均为非对称结构，主塔在空间上产生一定的扭曲变形，导致桥梁施工难度成倍上升。大桥中下塔柱采用变截面设计，即从下往上不断收缩，且倾斜度较大，整体施工难度非常大。为确保主塔顺利封顶，项目部积极优化施工组织设计，创新工艺工法，创新性采用了“台阶式”的浇筑方法，为人员、机械进场创造了有利条件，解决了峡谷陡坡地形条件下桥梁基础施工难题
