During the N4zi regime, the lives of German civilians were completely redesigned. Nothing was left out. Work, leisure, family, beliefs, s3xuality, and even everyday language were absorbed into the state apparatus. Citizens ceased to be individuals and became cogs in the machine.
This transformation wasn't imposed suddenly. It was constructed through laws, rituals, promises of stability, and symbolic rewards. Propaganda infiltrated classrooms, popular songs, and children's games. Those who adapted were rewarded. Those who deviated disappeared. Surveillance wasn't just police-related: it was domestic, workplace, and intimate.
How was daily life shaped under a total dictatorship? To what extent did the population cooperate with their own loss of freedom? And how many of these totalitarian habits survived the fall of the regime?
