Taken from the movie Shattered Spirits, on ABC affiliate WTEN (channel 10) in Albany, NY. The movie focused on alcoholism, and at the end of the video is an alcohol addiction hotline (long before you could go to a website).
ABC's mid-season offerings shown in the video did not find much of an audience. The network had some issues during the mid-80s as its popular 70s-era shows were losing ground and being cancelled, and plus NBC had just returned to the number one spot again. ABC would rebound later in the decade with its "TGIF" line-up.
Also look for a Discover Card commercial sing by TV jingle great Florence Warner, who died a few weeks ago.
