The Nazis claimed Colditz Castle was "escape proof." The Allies accepted the challenge. This is the insane true story of the "Colditz Cock"—a full-sized glider built in secret inside the castle attic. 🏰✈️
Oflag IV-C (Colditz) was the "Bad Boys Camp" of the Third Reich—a high-security fortress designed to hold the most dangerous Allied escape artists. But instead of tunneling out, a team of British officers led by Bill Goldfinch and Jack Best decided to fly out. Using stolen bedsheets, floorboards, and electrical wiring, they engineered a two-man glider behind a false wall in the castle chapel... right under the guards' noses.
