The Terry Baucom is my favorite of all the banjos made by the Rich & Taylor company because of its walnut wood and nickel hardware. The walnut (which is also a relatively rare wood) gives it a unique, full sound with lots of depth. The Baucom model also has a three-ply hard rock maple shell and a Tennessee 20 tone ring (developed with the help of scientists at Oak Ridge laboratories in Tennessee through a special government program).

This Rich & Taylor Terry Baucom model is in excellent condition with gorgeous inlay and little to no fret wear. This banjo is missing its sticker on the inside of the rim so we don't know the exact year.

ABOUT: Geoff Hohwald has been playing banjo since the 1960’s. He became active in the thriving bluegrass community in Ohio as a teenager while studying at Ohio State University. He has played professionally as a guitarist and banjo player with several bluegrass bands ever since. Geoff moved to Atlanta after college and co-founded the Watch and Learn publishing company. They now publish a full line of musical instrument instruction books and digital modules. He also owned several music stores in Atlanta from the 1980s through the mid-2000s and is still an active participant in the musical instrument re-sale community in the southeast.
