Ghaa is a Nigeria-Cameroon chimpanzee - the most endangered sub-species. He arrived to the LWC in 2006 when he was just 1 year old. He is an orphan of illegal hunting; his mother shot for bush meat.
He arrived with two bullet wounds. These wounds inflicted by his poacher left him paralysed with no hope of ever being returned to the wild or living a 'normal' chimp life. We didn't know if he would ever recover the use of his arms and legs. But with the dedicated care of the LWC staff he has grown into a strong chimpanzee. Now he helps to take care of other orphaned chimpanzees and teaches them what it is to be a chimp.
Help us to provide him with the best possible life-long care. http://limbewildlife.org/help-us
