Just one day before his death, Pope Francis made his final public appearance on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, delivering the traditional Urbi et Orbi blessing from the balcony of St. Peter’s Basilica.
The 88-year-old pontiff, known for his humility and progressive reforms, passed away Monday morning after battling a severe case of double pneumonia.
