Nigeria Partners with China to Strengthen Defense Industry

Nigeria is taking a major step toward defense self-sufficiency. On March 18 in Abuja, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defense, Dr. Bello Matawalle, met with a delegation from China’s NORINCO. The meeting aimed to expand strategic military cooperation, including technology transfer, workforce training, and boosting local production of defense hardware. This collaboration is part of a 2024 initiative to strengthen Nigeria’s domestic defense industry.
