The evening was about more than volunteering hours or titles. It was about intention, service, and the quiet ways youth give their time, energy, and care, often without expecting recognition. We reflected on the spirit of giving in Islam and how that legacy continues through young people today.
Hosted by the Islamic Social Services Association in partnership with the Winnipeg Central Mosque, the gathering brought youth together for reflection, appreciation, and community. There were conversations, moments of gratitude, and shared reminders of why service matters.
At the end of the event, youth volunteers were honoured with awards as a way to say thank you and to acknowledge that their efforts do not go unnoticed.
