That deep southern USA accent included many slang terms. Enjoy these translations with Johnny-Ray Matthews, a fictional character I created to embody one representation of the lifestyle down here in Georgia. As I acted this made-up story, using as many slang terms as possible in each improvised sentence, I sometimes reminded myself of my own grandpa! 😅
The footage of myself as Johnny-Ray Matthews was all completely unscripted. The stories, sentences, and sayings were created as my phone recorded a 45 minute improvised conversation with a made-up friend naned “Billy-James”. Then, I went back into the video and chopped it up into individual sentences to focus on a particular southern slang term. Knowing this makes the video funnier.
