In this video, i discuss the importance of training hip adduction, which is often an overlooked joint range of motion for lower body function. I explain how limited hip adduction can be coupled with issues like hip limited internal rotation and impingement in deep hip flexion. Two exercises are demonstrated- the side-lying adductor overcoming isometric plus lift-offs, and the wall reference standing adduction - to improve hip adduction through specific adductor strengthening and abductor lengthening under load. Finally, I discuss how these exercises can help improve squat performance by reducing hip pinching.
