19th Annual Bayfield Polar Bear Plunge
Saturday, March 15th, 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM CDT
In 2006, a few folks got together to come up with some ideas to raise money for our local recreation center. We cam up with two ideas. One was a two mile open water swim from Bayfield to Madeline Island in the summer and the other was a polar bear plunge in late winter. The polar bear plunge has continued for 18 years missing only one year during the pandemic. Sooo this would be the 20th annual Bayfield Polar Bear Plunge but it is the 19th. The recreation center decided to part ways with the polar bear plunge but we at the Bayfield School are going to continue with this community fundraising event.
