九省通衢·江城武漢 | The Thoroughfare to Nine Provinces - Wuhan, Hubei Province HD

武漢，簡稱漢，別稱江城，湖北省省會，中部六省唯一的副省級市的中心城市，全國重要的工業基地、科教基地和綜合交通樞紐。武漢有九省通衢之稱，高鐵網絡連結大半個中國，是中國鐵路系統中重要的大型中轉站以及內河重要港口。
世界第三大河長江及其最大支流漢水在武漢交匯，造就了武漢隔兩江立三鎮地理特徵，市內江河縱橫、湖港交織，全境水域面積2217.6平方公里，占全市總面積的四分之一，構成了武漢濱江濱湖水域生態環境，因此武漢自古又稱江城。
Wuhan (short for Han), called Jiangcheng (river city), is the capital city of Hubei Province, the only sub-provincial city among the six central provinces, an important industrial base, science and education base, and integrated transportation hub in China. It is also known as “the thoroughfare to nine provinces”, because its high speed railway network connects more than half of China, and it has the most important large transfer station and inland port in Chinese railway network.
The world’s third largest river, Yangtze River, and its largest tributary, Han River, meets in Wuhan and help the city create a geographical feature of being surrounded by two rivers and three towns. What’s more, there are horizontal and vertical rivers in the city with a total water area of 2,217.6 square kilometers which accounts for a quarter of the total area of Wuhan. That is also the reason why Wuhan has a water ecological environment and is called Jiangcheng (river city) from ancient times.
