2025 Honda Odyssey Mini-Van: The Flip Side - What Other Reviewers Don't Mention

In this video, I give a critical tour of my 2025 Honda Odyssey mini-van. I try to cover things and 'features' usually missed in other video reviews of the vehicle, some praising design decisions, more often calling Honda out for problematic aspects of their design. I intend for this to be an antidote to the many video YouTube reviews by people who are always smiling as they essentially just read the items listed on the window sticker.

UPDATE 5-15-25
As I have been driving this new 2025 Odyssey around in the weeks after purchase, I realized that on certain rough road surfaces there was a heavy metallic 'clunk' sound that seemed to come from just behind the steering wheel. At highway speeds, the same road surfaces caused a loud rattle sound that also could be felt in the steering wheel.

On two trips to the dealer about this, they were unable to reproduce my complaint, and dismissed it. Then, I was on a rural road for about half an hour that consistently caused the 'clunk' and 'rattle', so I took a video using my phone and sent it to the dealer. A third visit to the dealer then got more reaction from the service manager, and reportedly from Honda, because then they had multiple employees road test it and were able to verify the concern. Honda authorized them to cannibalize another Odyssey that they were using as a 'loaner', reportedly removing the entire steering column assembly, from rear of steering wheel down to and including the steering rack/box, and installing it on my van. They said they then drove it a LOT and no longer experienced the problem, so Honda sent them a new assembly which they installed on my van and presumably put the intermediate assembly back onto the 'loaner' van. That seems to have solved the problem. They sent the problematic assembly back to Honda for evaluation, and the dealer said that they heard this was the possible beginning of some kind of recall or at least a service bulletin.
