There's a trick that could make this fight easier. If you go to settings and change maximum FPS to 30, it will slow down the boss mechanics and make them take more time. The goal of this video's strategy was to kill the boss before the final Cancel Rings appear, so delaying that mechanic as long as possible was ideal. However, since I was already lv 501, I decided to try and see if I could beat this boss with 60 FPS. I would have to find other ways of optimizing damage and prolonging the battle.
I chose Red Hood team, because that one performed the best for me. I think it's because of the higher CP; there's an 80k CP difference between this team and my Electric team, and that CP difference gets even worse if I include Rouge in the team. I'm not sure if this team could beat the Electric team in a CP-neutral situation, but for this fight it was the superior choice.
0:28 - 0:48 Before I used Cinderella's Burst, I switched to Naga and made sure she triggered her healing effect first. I wanted Naga to heal Crown so that her S2 would give ATK DMG% buff to the team and make Cinderella's Burst stronger. I also buffed her with Red Hood's B1, since the 1st Burst window was the only opportunity to do so. I needed to go to these lengths to optimize damage, because otherwise defeating Mirror Container was impossible.
0:50 - 0:55 I deliberately ignored the Glass Slippers. In fact, it was crucial that I left them alive. They can be destroyed with one well-placed hit, but if I left them be, it would delay the boss mechanics. Normally, Crown's shields can negate any hit from Glass Slippers, but this time Red Hood took a hit. However, I had Naga healing, so it wasn't a terribly big deal.
0:59 Since I had used Red Hood's B1, Crown's Burst was still deceptively on cooldown. I had to wait until the stage timer was close to 2.37 before activating my 2nd Burst sequence.
1:20 It wasn't possible for me to have Crown's shields active during the 3rd time Glass Slippers attack. For that attack, I had to take cover. It always targeted Red Hood because of her ATK, so I didn't need to order the entire team behind cover.
1:57 - 2:12 The sooner I activated Burst skills after the phase transition, the better. These were the last moments before the boss buffed itself with 4 DEF buffs, so this was prime time to get few more unmitigated hits in. In particular, Cinderella was able to hit the boss with her Burst skill without being dampened by the DEF buffs.
2:17 - 2:24 Right after the defense buffs and a laser attack, the boss launched a "crystal javelin" at my team. It can pierce through cover/shield and it deals a lot of damage, but there was nothing I could do to stop it. Turns out, the defense buffs affect not only the boss, but also any projectiles the boss launches. That crystal javelin was indestructible thanks to the DEF buffs, so my only course of action was to tank the hit. 🍀 Fortunately, it only hit Crown this time.
2:24 To break the first Glass Slippers, I used Red Hood's B3 + Liter's B1. As long as she was buffed up like that, Red Hood could destroy it. 2:41 For the 2nd Glass Slippers, Liter's buff and a fully-charged shot sufficed.
3:01 - 3:12 From 3rd Glass Slippers onwards, I started doing something different: I delayed destroying the Glass Slippers. I needed to further delay the boss mechanics, and this was my best chance to do so. And with only 2 DEF buffs left on the boss, I could actually deal some damage too, particularly to the Core. It was also easier to destroy the Glass Slippers in general, so I didn't need as much preparation for it.
3:36 After the 4th Glass Slippers had been destroyed, the following Red Hood's Burst was my last push to kill the boss. If the Cancel Rings appeared before the boss was dead, it would regain the 4 DEF buffs and effectively reduce my damage to 1. Destroying the Cancel Rings was impossible (because of the buffs), so the boss had to die now or never. (In case I needed to chip away 2-3 HP bars more, Cinderella could use her Burst skill one more time).
4:02 And here, you can see the metaphorical wall crumbling down. I can finally advance to Hard Chapter 33.
