As we continue our journey through Advent, this Sunday we remind ourselves that God’s joy often breaks in when and where we least expect it.
In worship we’ll step once more into the imaginative world of The Nutcracker, drawing from its wonder, mystery, and even its moments of fear. Clara’s encounter with the towering Mouse King, her surprising courage, and the Nutcracker’s faithful presence help us see something powerful about the Christmas story: joy is not the absence of darkness, but the light that shines through it.
We’ll explore how the shepherds, Herod, and the holy family each reveal a different perspective on fear and power—and how Christ invites us to choose joy even in a world that feels overwhelming.
