Air India AI171 Crash: Shocking Footage of Boeing 787 Disaster Near Ahmedabad Airport

In a tragic incident on June 12, 2025, Air India Flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after takeoff from Ahmedabad Airport en route to London Gatwick. The aircraft, carrying 242 people—including 169 Indians, 53 Britons, 1 Canadian, and 7 Portuguese nationals—plunged into a residential area near Meghani Nagar, resulting in significant casualties both onboard and on the ground.  

Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple explosions followed by thick plumes of smoke as the plane collided with a building. A video of the incident showed the aircraft gaining altitude after takeoff before suddenly descending mid-air and crashing in a plume of fire and smoke. 

Among the victims was former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, though his presence remains unconfirmed. A British national, Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, miraculously survived with minor injuries. Rescue and recovery efforts are ongoing, with multiple governments offering assistance.   

This marks the first fatal crash involving a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, raising concerns and prompting calls for a thorough investigation.
