A Floating Island For The Pond - Water Clarity And Pond Filter Update

The floating island was a really simple build and way better than the pallet-based design that I had originally considered.
The grey containers are from Royal Mail and if you ask your postie nicely he / she will likely give you some. I had loads of them and when I'd used as many as I could for growing vegetables I turned my attention to the pond.
The plants used in this build were from my big pond filter and I replaced the plants with brushes from my house gutters. I replaced the house gutter brushes with mesh so everything had a place.
As you can see the ducks like the island although I haven't seen a terrapin on it yet - they will surely venture out there when the weather (and water) warms up a bit more after the Winter - it is still March in the UK .... and although it's nice in the sunshine the water is very cold.
Going the Natural route with the pond filtration may have taken a while to clear the water but as you can see in the video it is very clear now, even with a nation of ducks on the pond and fish in abundance so I'm pleased with that.
