Transport:
There is no public transport up to the Southern Cross trailheads as far as I know, so you need to drive yourself or arrange a hire car or local taxi to take you from either the Taitung or Kaohsiung side.
These taxi services can be easily found online by searching ”南橫接駁車“.
NOTE: The Southern Cross Highway is frequently closed by rock falls, both minor and major, following heavy rainfall so please check if it is open before leaving for your trip.
