Welcome back to the channel.

We have arrived at Zimanga, a private game reserve in the northern part of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa.

Zimanga is in the heart of Zululand and offers luxury accommodation alongside spectacular wildlife viewing experiences.

At Zimanga there are multiple activities including two overnight underground hides for the ultimate photographic experience and a variety of other hides that will all suit your liking.

Zimanga is an ultimate wildlife photographer destination which offers an exclusive big 5 wildlife experience. This is a photographic paradise with abundant wild and birdlife.

There's a choice of accommodation options at Zimanga, the Homestead can be your private villa in the bush which can accommodate 7 guests and the Main Lodge with 8 separate luxury double suites to accommodate 16 guests.

The Main Lodge offers an exclusive lounge and dining area with delicious meals, well trained and friendly staff members.

The luxury suits have everything you need. It is spacious and comfortable. It has two desks, ideal for photographers editing their amazing wildlife shots. It is probably one of the best accommodation's that I have experienced, with a definite five-star rating. To combat the hot and humid climate, all rooms are airconditioned.

There is a large meeting room at the main lodge for bigger group to share camera tips and tricks or to share your experiences with family or friends. There is a large collection of all kinds of cameras from yesteryear. Quite an amazing sighting by itself.

When arriving at Zimanga, you get this awesome photographer destination feeling. A place where amazing things can happen in the wild. Looking at other photographers amazing photos which is showcased in the reception area.

The homestead can be your own villa in the bush, and it is ideal for groups up to seven people. It has amazing views with a rim flow pool to enjoy nature at its best.


The underground hides are fully equipped with all the basics you will need. We stayed in both the Umgodi and Tamboti hides, and both were equally comfortable. The sightings however were amazing during our stay and as you could see we got some amazing shots.

Both hides have WIFI capability which helped us to stay connected with the outside world.
