Secrets St. Lucia Resort & Spa - Tour and Review - Preferred Club Swim Out

Honest Review of our Stay June 29-July 4, 2025

Secrets St. Lucia opened June 1, 2025. This was a highly anticipated open due to the fact that it was originally supposed to open March 1st. We knew going in that there would be potential kinks that were not worked out yet, but were willing to not set our expectations high and be grateful that we could enjoy the beautiful island and resort.

I’ll start with the check in process, grounds and accommodations themselves. We were greeted with cold towels, gave them our name and immediately were whisked off to the preferred club lounge where a concierge greeted us upon arrival and got us all checked in. This was a quick process. We did, however, wait about a half hour for our butler to show up to escort us to our room. But we had a drink at the preferred club bar and passed the time. The preferred club lounge had nice comfy atmosphere and decor. It was lacking with regards to location it was far feom everything. Normally at other secrets the lounge was close to the rooms, pool etc. It also lacked snacks and food. There was no special restaurant or menu for preferred club. Our butler drove us to our room on a golf cart where our luggage was waiting. The room was Gorgeous!!!! 🤩 Beautiful decor and so nice and clean!!! Layout was great. Note: there are no bathtubs or hot tubs. We knew this before but others did not. Grounds were beautiful. Gardeners were out every morning. Very clean. Our swim out was our favorite place. Clean, great view and I liked that they provided floating loungers. Preferred club pool was pretty with a view and bar. Drink service was limited. No food service. That brought down my score. Bars were inconsistent with drinks. They had drinks of the day and half the time the bartenders didn’t know how to make them. The beach was beautiful, swimmable, but small. Plenty of seating, loungers and Bali beds. There was a small are for preferred club pool. Our. Butler was mediocre. We had to ask multiple time for things like restocking mini bar, room service to be delivered on time, quotes for taxi service etc. He decorated our room beautifully for our anniversary and made sure we had food in the room when he welcomed us after checking in. Activities were always fun. There was plenty to do. Shows every night. Movies on the lawn. Dance classes, fitness, and fun. Pools were all beautiful. Again, plenty of seating. Pool bar was wonderful. Favorite places to eat was the cafe (coco) serving teas, coffees and desserts. LeCreperie, serving tapas, crepes and ice cream. We were at boyh these places nightly. Portofino, which was Italian. And the Hibachi restaurant. These both got a 9 bc service was slow. Oceania was meh. Service was good, food was mediocre. Morgan’s pier had great food. Service from bar was lacking. Drinks not made well and slow service. Beach bbq had great fresh burgers everyday. They needed more variety. Employees were super nice. Only a few had some attitude but it may have just been an off day. Room service I scheduled a day ahead for 8-9am on our anniversary knowing we had 11am spa appointments. We had to call our butler twice and it finally showed up about 10am and half our stuff was missing and the other half was wrong. 😑 Bar drinks were hit or miss as mentioned earlier. Spa was fabulous. The only thing I would recommend is more shaded areas around hydrotherapy area. Unfortunately my massage therapist had to step out bc she had a tickle in her throat. I lost probably 10 min of my massage and they didn’t give it back to me. I didn’t complain. It was a great massage and everything else was great. Note on departure: if you want to put tips on card, go earlier bc they had to figure out how to do this. Also, make sure they give you a checkout ticket for your driver to show the gate. We learned this and they didn’t give us one so we couldn’t leave 🤣
