Can This Young Draft Horse Beat The Odds?

Today’s a big day for our Percheron/Quarter Horse cross filly—we’re heading back to the vet for X-rays to find out if her fractured coffin bone has healed. It’s been 7 weeks since the original diagnosis, and she’s been on strict stall rest ever since. For the last 6 weeks, she’s been wearing a special shoe to support the healing process and keep pressure off the fracture. No running, no turnout—just rest and careful monitoring.
This check-up will tell us whether the rest has paid off or if she needs more time to recover. We’re hopeful for good news, but with injuries like this, nothing’s guaranteed until we see those X-rays. Come along with us to the vet to find out how her foot is doing and what the next steps will be in her recovery journey.
