Why does everyone love Galxboy so much?

Founded in 2008, the South African streetwear brand has achieved rare success and built a dedicated, cult-like community. Offering bootleg versions of Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Celine, designer, and founder Thatiso Dube has followed the Dapper Dan philosophy of luxury appropriation. But where Dapper Dan's work was a knockup of designer products, Dube's is almost identical. What about these purposely fake bags, sunglasses, and sneakers that have gained so much favour from South African audiences?
