Miss Namibia to choose location and design of new NHE house - nbc

Miss Namibia, Johanna Swartbooi, will be allowed to choose the location and design of her new two-bedroom house courtesy of the National Housing Enterprise (NHE).

NHE met with the Miss Namibia Organisation to deliberate on the location of her choice.

The home, valued at N$750 thousand, forms part of Swartbooi's official prize package after winning Miss Namibia 2025.

Although the initial plan was to allocate her a house at Osona village, the NHE board opted to consult her personally to decide for herself.

"I can't say thank you enough for providing me with the options of choosing my first home. Imagine, as a 28-year-old in Namibia, I have been granted the privilege and the honour to own a home, and I don't take it for granted, especially because I have the choice to do so and not just a random choice but an informed decision."

The NHE Communications and Marketing Manager, Mutonga Matali, confirmed that the house is being offered under a three-year sponsorship partnership between NHE, Miss Namibia, and the NBC.

"We had fruitful deliberations this morning on the issue of the house that the National Housing Enterprise has sponsored. You are all aware that in July 2025, we announced the sponsorship for the next three years. So the next three winners of Miss Namibia will all receive brand new houses."

Acting Head of PR and Marketing, Beaulah Beukes-Boois, said such partnerships create opportunities for young Namibians and strengthen corporate support for national talent initiatives.

Swartbooi is yet to make her final decision on the location of her home.
