Class #8 - Classes and BEM Naming in Bricks Explained

In this class, I’ll explain how classes work inside Bricks and why learning proper BEM naming will save you tons of time as your projects grow. You’ll see how to create and reuse classes, how specificity works, and why styling at the ID level can get messy fast. Then I’ll walk you through the BEM system – Block, Element, Modifier – and show you exactly how to name your classes so your structure stays clean and easy to understand.

We’ll build an example “employee card” layout together using real BEM-style names like employee__name and employee__name--ceo so you can see how modifiers work in practice. Once you understand this method, you’ll be able to manage your styles confidently, reuse them anywhere, and know exactly what each class is for even months later.
