The new flooring is characterised by grooves on the upper side. The floor profile has a slight slope on both sides, which quickly drains the urine to the grooves. This allows faeces and urine to be separated quickly, while at the same time minimizing the surface area wetted by urine.
The faeces are removed out of the barn at short intervals, at least every 2 hours, by a special scraper with scraper lips adapted to the grooves.
The principle is to separate urine from faeces and keep the surfaces dry and clean. This reduces the formation of ammonia.
