Kickoff your 2026 hiking season with us! In this video, we head to the east side of Rolla, Missouri, to explore the Prairie Lake Trail. It’s a solid 3.9-mile loop that’s perfect for anyone looking for an easy, accessible trek to get outdoors.
While the trail is mostly a road and can get notoriously muddy on wet days, we got lucky with a cold snap! The ground was frozen solid, making for a much cleaner hike than usual. It’s not the most "scenic" overlook-style trail in the Ozarks, but it’s a peaceful, enjoyable walk around the water that we’d definitely recommend if you’re in the Rolla area.

Location: Prairie Lake (East side of Rolla, MO)
Distance: 3.9 Miles
Difficulty: Easy
Terrain: Mostly road/flat path (can be muddy!)
