This week’s Maverick Monday brings you a drink that’s cool, creamy, and full of flavour:
Iced Almond Latte with Kolhapuri Jaggery.
It’s vegan, refreshing, and built on deep, earthy sweetness from one of India’s most iconic jaggery regions.
🥄 Here’s how to make it:
1️⃣ Make a thick syrup by gently melting Kolhapuri jaggery with a splash of water. Let it reduce until sticky & garnish the glass with this.
2️⃣ Drizzle this syrup along the inside of a tall glass (like how you’d prep a dessert).
3️⃣ Add a few ice cubes—just enough to keep things cool.
4️⃣ Pour in 120ml of chilled almond milk.
5️⃣ In a separate cup, brew a shot of hot espresso and stir in 2 tablespoons of Kolhapuri jaggery. Mix until fully dissolved.
6️⃣ Pour this jaggery-espresso mix into your glass of almond milk.
7️⃣ Give it a gentle stir, and sip slow.
The result? A layered, slightly smoky, nutty iced coffee that’s sweet without being sugary.
