I couldn't resist the urge to get out my chisels and do some hand turning on this 14 x 7.5 segmented snare shell. It's an a specially pleasurable experience turning a segmented drum on the lathe, as the grain of the wood is running continuously around the shell meaning that you are constantly cutting with the grain. This makes for long thin noodles of whispy sawdust being effortlessly shaved from the piece. It's one of my favorites #flowstate experiences.
