Zorro cosplay pants (part 2)

In this video, I demonstrate how I attach the pant legs together. I also explain how to add the waistband as well as the belt loops.

NEEDED SUPPLIES

Black fabric (I use cotton)
Black thread
Pins (or wonder clips)
Measuring tape
Velcro
Sewing machine (I use my Brother ST150HDH)


PROCESS

I begin by cutting out 2 pieces of fabric about 1 inch longer and 2 inches wider than the velcro. I hem one side and the bottom of the fabric. I sew the velcro pieces onto the fabric pieces.
I pinned the grabby side velcro fabric to the right pant leg with right sides facing each other. I sewed the pieces together. (Make sure the top edge of the velcro fabric is lined up with the top edge of the pant leg) I pinned the soft velcro fabric to the left pant leg. I sewed it in place, flipped it to the inside of the pant leg, and sewed it down.
I flipped one of the pant legs inside out and put the other one inside it. I pinned the pant legs together along the crotch edges. I started at the inseams and worked my way to the back. Then I pinned from the inseam to the velcro.
I forgot to record making the belt loops and waist band, but it's a super easy process. I cut out some pieces of fabric about 2 inches by 2 inches. I folded one of the fabric pieces in half and used my iron to put a crease in it. I unfolded the fabric and folded the raw edges to meet at the crease. I folded it together again, ironed, and sewed it together.
I measured the top edge of the pants. I cut out 2 pieces of fabric about half an inch longer than the length. I also cut one of the waistbands wider than the other one.
I pinned the belt loops along the top edge of the pants. I also pinned the first waistband to the top edge of the pants and sewed it and the belt loops in place.
I pinned the belt loops to the raw edge of the first waistband piece. I also pinned the second waistband piece to the raw edge of the first waistband piece. Then I sewed the waistbands together. I flipped the second waistband piece so it was on the inside of the pants. I folded the raw edge under the fabric, pinned it to the stitch line from the first waistband. I sewed it in place. Lastly, I sewed a button and button hole into the waistband.
