Can we Question God? | Quran

Dr. Shabir Ally discusses a commonly misunderstood Quranic verse: “He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned” (21:23). Dr. Shabir explains that classical commentators often used this verse to assert that God cannot be questioned, particularly in the context of debates over predestination. However, he clarifies that the verse should not be interpreted to mean God acts arbitrarily or does questionable things. Instead, it highlights that God has no higher authority above Him, unlike created beings who are accountable. God's actions, while beyond human scrutiny, are consistent with His nature of mercy and justice.
