TRIP REPORT | Low-Cost Long-Haul is Real! | Oslo to Los Angeles | NORSE Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

Norse Trip Report flying from Oslo to Los Angeles onboard one of the Norse Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on a perfect summer day.

A really comfortable flight from Oslo to Los Angeles onboard the Norse Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Norse Atlantic is a new long-haul low-cost airline that basically took the Norwegian long-haul model and renamed it. It's fair to say that Norse Atlantic is a "Norwegian long-haul v2.0". So, Norse Atlantic is a low-cost airline, therefore consider everything I say about them from that point of view.

We departed on time from Oslo in a northbound direction. Just after takeoff, we made a left turn to start our flight to Los Angeles. The flight couldn't start better: there were 0 clouds over Norway today, so we could see perfectly all the mountains and fiords before entering the North-Atlantic ocean. After almost 2:30h of clouds, we finally spotted Greenland. It is not as spectacular as in winter when absolutely everything is frozen, but wow! It was still amazing. Lots of icebergs, glaciers, sharp canyons and high cliffs. Greenland is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen from a plane.

From Greenland, we flew another hour over the Baffin bay (North Atlantic Ocean) on course to Canada. Sadly, we couldn't see almost anything of it, as we had high clouds all the way.

About the onboard service, as a low-cost, Norse Atlantic has a buy-on-board menu but also offers the option to buy online normal food options, as in any other long-haul airline. I decided to book online both the main meal and the pre-landing light meal. There were 2 options onboard: fish or chicken. I went for the chicken option, which was coming with arrabbiata sauce and some vegetables. It was quite tasty but the portion was too small in my opinion. Luckily, there were some extra meals onboard and I was able to purchase a second one. Much better for a 10h+ flight.
