Civilight Eterna, the Bard Boss Killer?? - Arknights 7-18 Chuzenji-Only 2 Ops

When one of your niches gets a new unit, there's only one place to go...

I've had this clear in mind for ages now. I already did a two op for LeithanienKnights with Vivi holding down the taking out phase two Patriot, so I knew it'd be possible with just these two. However, knowing it's possible and actually doing it are two different things.

Civilight Eterna is actually the easy part of the stage. Her true damage on S2 lets her bypass Patriot's def/res, letting her take him out handily. The setup isn't too bad either, though on the first activation you can see how easy it is for the wrong enemies to get in the way of her particles. Knowing where the particles go once you activate the skill also comes into play on the second activation, as I need to phase Patriot before he hits his checkpoint, letting him advance to Vivi only after she's dealt with the first rush. If I activate it too late, he hits the checkpoint and advances too early, and if I activate it too soon, it binds him outside of the final range of the particles, delaying the phase. I still use two mines on the first phase to help me phase him right where I want him while leaving enough skill time for her to take out one of the first enemies afterwards. After that, it's all Vivi.

Vivi is far from the traditional 7-18 lane holder. Crucially, she has only one block and no form of self healing, meaning she relies on her damage to keep from getting overwhelmed and the combination of her shields/defensive stats to keep herself alive for the whole stage. I was a little bit worried about how it'd go, since, back with my LeithanienKnights clear, Eyja helped by taking out a number of the enemies in that big phase two rush while Patriot recovers. I had to figure out skill/mine timings all over again due to the change, but even without the help Vivi does quite well. Her S2 would honestly probably be a better fit for lane holding here, given that it has better up time and gives her a second block, but she also needs to take out phase two Patriot, and it just doesn't have the damage of her S3.

At the very end I redeploy CE. It's not necessary, and Vivi can finish the stage herself, but this is kind of a CE showcase so it felt right lol

Anyway, that's it for this one! I've really been enjoying CE. She's definitely strong, but in a way that rewards you for understanding/playing around her kit. Imo that makes for a very fun unit, and one that I hope to showcase some more here off and on. Also, before I go, two quick shout outs. First of all: ‪@Aerakin‬ actually beat me to clearing this stage with the niche, doing a three op before I even managed to get CE. It's a really cool clear and I definitely recommend checking it out. They've been playing this niche for longer than I have and have a lot of cool Chuzenji clears on their channel! And secondly: ‪@threehoo‬ for suggesting that I use a "sacrificial lamb" as the thumbnail animal. I was really unsure of what I'd use, and when I posted about it I got a lot of really good suggestions, but this was just so on point thematically for Theresa/CE that I really liked it.
