With proper maintenance our Bean Cellars can last you a lifetime. There are a couple of key items to be aware of to keep them in tip-top shape:
1. The O-Rings will require periodic re-application of lube. When they get hard to take off, use a mineral oil (non-scented baby oil) or other non-fouling oil. Just a drop between the fingertips is usually enough to re-apply to all 12 caps.
2. Cleaning the glass can be done as any glassware. Dishwasher is OK for the glass, but not for the caps. The caps should be wiped clean (running water is fine, just dry off afterwards).
3. If caps are popping off after freshly roasted coffee is put in, check to make sure your valve isn't sticky. With a lightly oiled Q-tip, clean and push from the inside gently to make sure that it can still open and close.
