Adding WIFI to a MegaSquirt ECU, the plug and play adapter way

This WIFI Module/Adapter is designed to be a plug and play solution with minimal configuration for wireless tuning and datalogging for Mega squirt ECU's, or any other ECU that uses a female db9 serial connection.

It supports a wide variety of the most common Baud rates in serial communication, most importantly including 115200 (default) and 9600, two of the most common. The baud rate can easily be configured
along with the SSID and PASSWORD allowing you to customize your module if desired.

Use your laptop or smartphone to tune or data log your ECU over WIFI.
Things couldn't be more easy. just plug it in, connect to the network, go to the configuration page, set the baud rate, hit save, and you are up and running.
No tangled cables or massive Bluetooth adapters that look ugly and take away from the interior appeal of your car or just get in the way of things.

ECUS that supply 5v to the DB9 Port through pin 9 do not need external power and will power the Serial-Link itself. For ECUS that do not supply that power,
You can use a phone charger or battery to power it through a micro USB port located on the side of the Serial-Link.

There is no need for you to plug anything into your laptop of phone, just connect to the serial link using your WIFI network settings.

Tested working with MS Droid, Shadow Dash, and the paid version of Tuner Studio (the free version of Tuner Studio does not support WIFI adapters).
DO NOT FORGET TO CONFIGURE THE WIFI ADAPTER SETTINGS IN THE APPLICATION YOU INTEND TO USE.

-Bluetooth modules do not work with Iphones, WiFi adapters do!

Bluetooth adapters on the market are big and bulky, which can get in the way of interiors with limited space, the Serial-Link is super slim and small.
WIFI offers a super fast and reliable connection limiting the amount of data loss and improving the frequency of updates in the data logs.
the Serial-Link uses TCP networking to ensure reliable communications between your tuning device and the serial Link to make sure you lose as little data as possible.
Module supports pass through networking options to allow applications to download ECU definition files from the internet while connected to the adapter (see instructions, optional)

I have tested and confirmed that it works with Windows and Android devices. It most likely works on other operating systems and phones as well but they are untested.

THIS MODULE ONLY ACTS AS A WIRELESS CABLE, IT DOES NOT MODIFY THE DATA ON THE ECU IT SIMPLY FORWARDS DATA BETWEEN THE ECU AND THE APPLICATION YOU ARE USING TO TUNE/DATALOG.
THIS SOFTWARE IS STILL IN DEVELOPMENT, WHILE EVERYTHING WORKED IN TESTING IT IS STILL POSSIBLE FOR BUGS/PROBLEMS TO SURFACE ONCE MORE PEOPLE OWN THEM,

THERE IS AN UPDATING SYSTEM IN PLACE THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE IF NEEDED.
