Kon Tiki బయోచార్ టెక్నాలజీ అనేది తక్కువ ఖర్చుతో, తక్కువ కాలుష్యంతో బయోచార్ తయారు చేసే ప్రత్యేక పద్ధతి. ఇది ఓపెన్ కాని గుంత లేదా లోహపు కోన్ ఆకారంలో ఉండే రియాక్టర్‌లో పని చేస్తుంది. ఇందులో ఎండు కొమ్మలు, పంట అవశేషాలు, చెక్క ముక్కలు లాంటి బయోమాస్‌ను పై నుండి వేసుకుంటూ కాలుస్తారు. పైభాగంలో మంట ఉండగా కింద ఆక్సిజన్ లేకుండా ఉండటం వల్ల పూర్తిగా కాలిపోకుండా, కార్బన్‌గా మారుతుంది. పొగ చాలా తక్కువగా వస్తుంది, అందువల్ల గ్రామాలు, ఫారాలు, ఫ్యాక్టరీల దగ్గర కూడా సురక్షితంగా ఉపయోగించవచ్చు. ఇలా తయారయ్యే బయోచార్ మట్టిలో కలిపితే నీరు పట్టే శక్తి పెరుగుతుంది, ఎరువుల అవసరం తగ్గుతుంది, పంట దిగుబడి పెరుగుతుంది.

Kon Tiki Biochar Technology is a simple, low-cost and clean method to produce high-quality biochar. It uses a cone-shaped metal or earthen reactor where biomass like crop waste, dry branches, and wood pieces are added from the top. The fire burns on the top layer, while the lower part remains low in oxygen, so the material does not burn completely but converts into stable carbon (biochar). This “flame curtain” method produces very little smoke and prevents harmful emissions. Because of this, it is ideal for use near farms, villages, and small factories. The biochar produced through Kon Tiki improves soil fertility, increases water holding capacity, reduces fertilizer use, and helps in long-term carbon storage, making it very useful for climate-smart agriculture.
