Happiness Only Real When Shared | The Chris McCandless Story (Grizzly Arrogance pt. 2)

I identify with Chris McCandless in a lot of ways, however hubristic and misguided he was. He spoke of the ills of modernity, of the superficiality of American materialism, the detriments of greed and ambition, and the joys of nature and solitude. He followed his heart and his idealistic romanticization of nature, and it’s hard not to have a certain respect for his faith in his beliefs.

But ultimately, Chris went into the Alaskan wilderness ill-prepared and mis-intentioned.
