Why Kneecap’s Glastonbury Set Is Under Criminal Investigation

Irish rap trio Kneecap rose to prominence through controversy, which reached its peak in June 2025. The band's Glastonbury set has drawn both jeering condemnations and celebratory chants from the Irish and British public. Two members walked on stage with keffiyehs around their necks, with one member notably missing.

Mo Chara, the absent member, was facing a terrorism charge in the UK for allegedly brandishing a Hezbollah flag—a banned symbol under British law.

Kneecap, alongside punk duo Bobby Vylan, made sure to loudly show support for Palestinians currently facing genocide at the hands of Israel.
