Derby Rail Extravaganza: The Greatest Gathering: 1st of August 2025

Probably one of the most hyped rail events in many years, Alstom's Litchurch Lane depot would host 'The Greatest Gathering' open day, featuring a plethora of railway traction on display, from steam power to diesel and electric. Also featured were several railway companies, societies, model railway companies; anything railway-related, you'd find it here.

I'll admit, this isn't the best video I've ever made, but I personally wanted to enjoy the event in the flesh and have a good look around, so filming wasn't a priority. This is also the first time the VX870 has been used in a long while, as I didn't feel like taking my 'A' camera, the VX1. I also didn't use my Rode VideoMic microphone due to bag restrictions and only being able to take a smaller one in.

Overall, it was a very decent event and I had a good time there.
