Sound masking is the process of raising the threshold of audibility in the presence of a louder (masker) sound. There are two types of sound masking i.e. simultaneous sound masking and temporal sound masking. In this video I have explained simultaneous sound masking with visual aids. I have also demonstrated the same by playing two notes i.e. 1000Hz note and 2000Hznote at different amplitudes. The 2000Hz note is played at a higher amplitude than the 1000Hz note thereby masking it.
