FX9 with a B4 2/3 lens | DoP · Lighting cameraman | Operator - Claus Frederiksen.

FX9, and a HJ22ex7.6B IASE HD · B4 2/3 mount broadcast lens from Canon. FFcrop 5K, 3840x2160p output, XAXC i, 25fps and 50fps (S&Q). Iris was between f4.0 and f5.6, and all was shot in S-Cinetone. Doubler on lens engaged, to cover the sensor.

A previous setup I used to shoot with on my FS7 when in need for very long lenses or the classic “tv-look”, now testet on my FX9 in FF 5K scan and 4K output. A MTF B4 to PL mount adaptor - that for some reason is not listed anymore on lensadaptor.com. But it´s the one with the glas inside, to correctly handle the distortion. And then paired with a Metabone PL to e-mount adapter, to fit the FX9. A bit of chromatic aberration here and there, as you would expect from a B4 2/3 lens, no matter the price or brand. And its struggling in the corners. But much, much better overall result than expected, especially compared to my previous showcase with the same setup, on my FS7 in s35 scan mode.
