The ARANGPHAMS are the real Architect of Manipuri Culture.The duties of Arangphams cover a wide range of culturally related master crafts like preparation, designing, decoration, displaying and produce & serve in accoradance with the related ritual festival and celebration. It has specific norm which are to be decorated, produced and served in a sequence order. as such Arangpham has to know all the literatures, text and mythology of traditional ideas and practices with historical background of the diffefent concept of the realities and ideas of its festival, rituals and celebrations.
With the objective to preserve and ensure the continuity in real order and considering the importance to have organise a research and record its documentation for future generation of the cultural crafts craft heritage of Arangpham of Manipur ,Our Cenre had taken a research & documentation works of “Arangpham- The Cultural Architect of Manlpur”- under the financial scheme for preservation & dissemination of Himalayan Ranges of the Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Deptt. of Culture, Govt. of India, New DeIhi
As part of the Research & Documentation , cultural workshops were held in two groups i.e. Hindu ( Goudiya sampradaya) and Meitei/Meetei Sanamahi during the year 2001-2002 on different dates to discussed all the aspects of Origin,custom,characteristical design,decoration and way of service in order etc. in a scientific way consulting different distinguished scholars, experts/resource persons and Arangphams ( Cultural experts) along with practical and training program. About 250 craftsmen/arangphams along with other Experts and cultural resource persons, distinguished persons participated in the Research & Documentation

This footage is Workshop as part of the Research & Documentation held on Augusr 11,2001 where Prof. Chongtham Manihar Singh. Former Secretary Manipur State Kala Akademi, Imphal/ Retd. HOD, Manipuri Department, Manipur University was Chief Guest and Dr. Ksh. Kala Singh, Bharat Excellency Awardee,/ President of the Centre as President over the Function.
Shri Leishangthem Dhanabir Singh ( Founder Member & long timeVice President of our Centre) , Achom Tampha Singh, I. Ibobi Singh, Prof. Huirem Bihari Singh, Prof. W. Jugindro Singh, Elam Indira, Ng. Nabachandra, Reuben Mashangva, Rangeela Waikhom, Oken Amukcham etc. were some eminent persons among the participants of the opening function.

ALL MANIPUR ARANGPHAM ASSOCIATION
Here it may be good to mention that the participated arangphams in the project wished to establish a body called All Manipur Arangpham Association (AMAA) and accordingly our centre helped them at the best & it was established afterward. and registered later on and of which the first official address was our Centre

MANIPUR STATE KALA AKADEMI AWARD
N. Harimati Devi, Secretary of our Centre put up in the Manipur State Kala Akademi various meetings for introducing Awards for Arangphams like other streams while she was General Council Member as Chairman’s nominee of MSKA for 3 Years from 01-04-2000.** Executive Member of Manipur State Kala Akademi for 3 Years from 2003 to 2006 *** Expert Committee Member ( Dance ) of Manipur State Kala Akademi for 3 Years from 2006 to 2009.
After submission Final Report of the Research & Documentation to ministry on 22-04-2003 , in December 2004, we received a letter from the Under Secretary, Ministry of Tourism & Culture, Department of Culture, BTI Section ,Government of India, NAI Annexe Building, New Delhi vide letter No. F.11-39/2000-BTI dated 24-11-2004 thereby informed us as under :
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ...... directed to refer to your letter dated 22-04-2003 on the above subject and to say that the Project Report was got evaluated from IGRMS, Bhopal. As per its recommendation you are requested to have the report translated in English to make it more useful for students, scholars, cultural organisations and many more throughout the world.

It also is a part of ‘AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV’ of 75 years of India’s Independence & 50 Years of long cultural journey of our Centre-’GOLDEN JUBILEE’ celebration.

It is an original documentation of our Institution and not for any monetization or business purpose but for education & promotion of Manipuri form of Dance . Music & culture through Social Media, Digital Platforms .
