Introducing Myself as a Writer to Strangers

This is the first time in my life I've introduced myself as a creative to strangers. I always knew it wasn't going to be easy, but I thought that'd be due to lacking confidence, not that I couldn't answer people's questions since the question itself was usually based in a incorrect assumption before we've even started.

It's a bit hard to describe, but if it's happened to you, you'll know what that means. The analogy I made to full-time Youtubers is pretty apt: getting asked how much "posting" earns when the base of understanding that that's not the system of pay is missing.
