Description: Have you ever wondered just how fast these Hot Wheels cars are actually moving on a track? Today, we’re moving past "guessing" and getting into actual data.
In this episode of Coding High, I’m taking a page out of the CrunchLabs playbook to build a frame-perfect digital speed trap. Using a 13-inch red straightaway, I wrote a Python script to calculate scale velocity in real-time.
The Tech Stack:
OpenCV: For real-time motion tracking and pixel-perfect start/stop gates.
NumPy: To handle the math behind the 1:64 scale conversion.
The "Monster Truck Hack": See how we used heavy stabilizers to fix a shaky sensor problem.
Results:
Blue Racer: 13 MPH
Yellow Mustang: 9 MPH
