##English## Hello Everyone! KIBOKONI is an area within Old Town of Mombasa City, Kenya, situated on the south-east side of Mombasa Island. KIBOKONI was a kind of CBD like 100 years back and everyone who cate to Mombasa by then, this was the center of activities. The area was dominated by Arabs those years back. The Old Town covers an area of 72 hectares (180 acres), and is inhabited by a mix of Swahili, Arab, Asian, Portuguese and British settlers.
Interesting town with full of history. The town is made up of narrow streets and very ancient house. Many locals in the market but still lovely to interact with the tourists and the visitors. This area consist of many architecturally impressive buildings influenced by Mombasa trade culture, with most of the reflecting Portuguese and Islamic architecture. Mombasa Old Town is an entertaining tourist destination with very beautiful views to the ocean and also the Historical fort Jesus. There are scenic streets, antique shops, souvenirs, spices and fragrance oils. There are many cafes and restaurants offering local Swahili dishes. Old town is also famous for the world's best Arabic Coffee.
