It is safe to assume that we’ve all heard the saying, “Children are the future, we must do what is best for them.” Baylee Lindell believes that it is when children become teenagers that they realize the power they have and shares ways adults can help them exploit their potential. Baylee Lindell is a high school social studies teacher at Escuela Americana in El Salvador. She is also the school's sponsor of the HeForShe club and is involved with Model United Nations. An avid traveler and wannabe blogger, Baylee spends her free time reading, writing, and planning trips. One of the greatest passions in her life is advocating for mental health awareness and programs in schools, especially for secondary students. She believes that teenagers are capable of doing incredible things to change the world and that education must do a better job of fostering that potential. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
