Part 4.2 of the documentary.
This 3-part documentary takes you through the process before, during, and after the EWL Partial Closure on 7th to 10th December 2024. The closure was planned to facilitate the connection between the future East-Coast Integrated Depot (ECID) to the mainline EWL, especially Reception Track 3A (RT3A) near Simei station. Expected to be completed by 2026 (initially planned for 2024 opening but got delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic), the ECID will boost rail efficiency and resilience, enhancing future journeys on the East-West Line, Thomson-East Coast Line and Downtown Line. In the video, you would also get to see sneak peaks of the completed normal service tracks/reception tracks (some of which is already fully installed with cables & 3rd Rail), new Platform at Tanah Merah, and also some tracks within the ECID itself.
If you want to read more information about the East-Coast Integrated Depot (ECID), here is a link to the official LTA Factsheet that talks more about it:

The video will take you through train joyrides and pictures of the tracks and train services affected during this period. Let's break down each section of the video for clearer understanding and have a rough look at what is expected.
Part 4.2 - During EWL Partial Closure (7th and 9th December 2024):
Enjoy multiple train rides from Bedok to Tanah Merah, with shuttle train operating at 3 sector (Tanah Merah to Expo, Expo to Changi Airport, and Tampines to Pasir Ris) with some photos taken. You will also get to see how much additional time it takes to get to Tampines if commuters were to use the Downtown Line as an alternative after getting off at Expo station. You will also see Simei station onboard Shuttle 7, which was the only EWL station to be closed during the 4 days of planned closure. Alternatively, you would see how alternate trains during the Weekdays Peak Hours would end its service at Paya Lebar and turnaround near Eunos station, before starting fresh again at the Westbound platform to alleviate the crowd levels.
